Honda C70 electric motor conversion, Update, April 30, 2010.
I have moved my personal residence and Evehicle Technology headquarters from the Charlotte, NC area to Greensboro. The first test of the 1981 Honda C70 EV conversion in weeks was performed. All components, DC motor, controller, batteries and throttle were tested. Everything worked properly except for the signal coming from the throttle to adjust the speed. Technical support was called and they are sending another throttle.
Chris.
The motor is between 1 1/3 & 1 1/2 HP, 1000 watt.
TN scooters has them online.
I only cared about attaining 45 MPH.
Next phase is a better throttle.
I know the motorcycle will perform better because it propelled me along the
driveway quite well with a 9 v lantern battery.
I have 3 12v batteries linked up. Everything works but the throttle needs improving.
What size motor did you use? Were can you find it. I’m looking at converting a Honda Trail 110.

How is the C70 project coming along, any new videos? I got the Honda trail gutted and am ready to order the motor, etc.
